DJ Mix: the sounds of frankfurt trance eye-q and harthouse records

due to some interest, I've decided to start posting a series of the various mixtapes I've done over the past 15 years. This mix, entitled "Illusions of a Dream from Years Past" is a two hour tribute to the sounds of frankfurt techno and trance. There is a long and storied history here, which I wont go into, but if you ever wanted to know what the infamous Omen nightclub sounded like on a friday night with Sven Vaeth at the helm during one of his marathon 12 hour dj sessions, this is a pretty good start. This mix starts with the beginning from 1992 and goes through 1996 or 1997, when the label's first incarnation folded. Burbling acid basslines, deep melodies and driving beats, its all here: the origins of trance can be traced to these sounds, and if you've heard any trance since 1999, you'll be surprised to find the original sounds are far different from what it has become since then...
