Headnoaks, a sneak preview review of the upcoming 'From A4 to A9' EP

I recently had the opportunity to listen to a pre-release copy of German electro producer Headnoaks upcoming EP 'From A4 to A9'. Fast becoming one of my go-to producers for electro sounds, Headnoaks embodies the type of music production philosophy that keeps me intrigued after all these years of being a dedicated basshead.

He's drawing from a wide variety of influences. His music doesn't follow a pre-defined formula; it's this kind of attitude and vibe that keeps the electro sound moving forward -- ever moving towards that day when we'll all regret "robots taking over rhetoric" ;)

From the EP opener to the final closing track, these tracks employ a wicked hybrid of deep spacey drones that recall elements of deep Underworld at their best, the ghosts of Westbam and Dr. Motte sharing a spliff, circuit-bent TB-303's freaking out with electrical circuitry.  There are tracks for the headphone freakz burning cigarettes watching the sun come up, and some bona fide dance-floor bangers that command attention. I'm looking forward to dropping some of these in a future Vocode electro showcase mix, to be sure.

I've been asked not to share this one yet as Headnoaks is completing mastering and artwork details, but I'm chomping at the bit to do it. This is 100% pure unkut dope electro grooves for 2010. Soon as its out officially, I'll be posting some soundscapes for you to hear yourself.
