Bob Humid - Preparation - Serve & Destroy Records

The hallmark of music, to my ears at least, is "does it stand the test of time". This track from Bob Humid is from 2001, but 'Preparation' sounds like it could have been made yesterday in any number of bunker-like studio's by mad electro scientist's who really need to get some sun. Glitch beats, but not to the point of distraction, a dark menacing void synth tone that stays where it should - ever in the background but letting you know it's there and creeping you out. Combine this with some deep bass drums for the speaker knockin' and you've got a track that tickles the abstract funny bone. This won't rattle any dancefloors, but it's not always about that is it?
