I used to have the same problem with my Reason 2.5 disc, then I had to download some minor patch version update and it was fixed. That said, I installed Reason 4.0 and never upgraded to the 4.01 patch and it works fine on my end, until I change the structure of my refills....

This is a really interesting topic and I've been waiting for others to chime in, to see what their thoughts are, but so far, no one has said anything.

I think that you're right that a physical presence adds something to the experience. I have a few albums I've purchased as digital files that are great albums, but when I'm scrolling through songs on my iPod, just don't stand out for some reason. Maybe it's the physical aspect. It might also be the connection to the time period. I would argue, unquestionably, that a lot of the crap 80s music I have on album (I'm looking at you, Human League) only sounds amazing because of the stage in my life when I bought them. So, maybe there's a double layer of investment, the physical media and the emotional response to when/where you were when you acquired that physical thing.

I'm just babbling here. Like I said, I was really curious what other people have to say about this, because I have no idea if I'm right on this.

Its hard to offer or receive any advice on this stuff. It all comes down to what app helps you make the most music. Cost issues aside, I've had Logic for almost as long as I've had Reason and my ratio of songs made in it compared to Reason is something like 1:80. And, that's a pretty conservative estimate. The techniques you can use and the interface in Reason are just a better fit for me. Its not that Logic isn't great, because it is, I just don't feel as comfortable there.

Its a tough call to make. $150 plus a new computer is a lot. :/

Yeah, I got into Moby a little later, with "Everything Is Wrong," then started moving backwards through his discography into some of this stuff. It seems like a lot of the "big" artists get a bad rap when they become too successful, but he's talented as hell. His "popular" stuff is popular for a reason... it's good.

I agree with you. It's an expensive add-on for Reason, but for the price, I think you get a lot. Ironically, the things about Record that interest me the most have nothing to do with its ability to record, but that's just how it works sometimes. My money is just as good, even if I don't use the product the way they intended. :)

It looks like a log entry that is a conversion from non-western language set (i.e asian etc) so it might be worth looking at your log geographical info and seeing if you can match that.
