I spent a few hours last night working on a project I've had cooking for quite some time now, the Ghetto Bass EP under another one of my various pseudonyms (shots out to Oliver Love).
This project, which will drop sometime this spring, is a take on mixing the ghetto tech sound of Detroit with Miami electro stylings and dirty south rapappelas. I've been working on it for quite some time to be honest, and the funny thing is as I sat down with it last night, instead of opening the latest project files of the tunes which I've been tweaking endlessly for a year, I went back to my original bounces from January of 2008. What do you know, they actually groove and sound much better than all the stuff I've been doing to them over the last year.
Using some helpful tips from Ed Colmar, I got the original wav files sounding pretty good and am basically almost ready to drop this thing. The EP consists of 4 tracks, 3 of which are complete and done, and the final which needs some additional work, which I hope to do over the next few weeks.
