so I've been digging a little deeper into the new Propellerheads Record product. While this product appears to be designed for bands to easily record their sessions, I have found some uses that will apply for myself and I think I will pay the modest upgrade price (for registered Reason users).
What are the cons? For me, I work with some external hardware synths and would love to have an integrated stable product to be able to record them in with Midi (bouncing audio when ready) - of course, Record does not allow this. Yeah I can record the synths, but I wont be able to record the midi and control the synths from within the software environment. I use Cubase, which is okay but I prefer the stability that propellerheads products provide me.
So why would I obtain Record while still having to use cubase to utilize my hardware synths? Two items: one is the seamless integration with Reason and the that beautiful SSL inspired mixing board, the other is being able to stack windows - I can finally not have to scroll down through complex reason projects.
