100% Pure Unkut Dope

Today: I love electro bass, elektro, techno-bass, electro funk or whatever you want to call it. My main mission is to push the sounds of electro to fans of the bass with daily drops about the electro scene, along with my usual assortment of production tips and discussions on the music industry. I review and recommend electro music daily, and I only recommend music that get's my head noddin' and the speakers burnin. I'm also conducting an ongoing series of interviews with electro DJs, producers, label owners and other cats who are making this scene happen.

History: I've been a fan of electro music since the days of being a bonafied in-tha-trunk basshead, complete with custom sub-woofer boxes and amplifiers destroying my ear drums. My first introduction to the sounds came from that small back section of music stores, where you'd see cassettes such as DJ Magic Mike "Bass Is The Name of the Game", Dynamix II "You Hear It You Fear It", and classics from the Miami Bass days ranging from the Ghetto Style DJs to Uncle Al, Clay D and beyond.

Years later, as I dug into mixing electronic music of all sorts, a guest DJ spun on my old college radio show and he blew my mind with the sounds of mid to late 90s electro grooves - particularly Dopplereffekt and Drexciya. The b-boy roots coming full circle now, I dove in head first and have been repping robotik b-boy bass music since 1999, first with the long running Vocode Project site, dedicated to the electro showcase series of dj mixes, and later with a small independent music label Vocode Records.

I feel a sort of renewed new school of electro artists coming together - there's a lot of folks keeping it going and I'm honored to have a chance to be a part of it. Planet Rock party people!
