On gelling with a music studio partner

I've been burning the candle at both ends for quite some time now and it's catching up to me. Today I finally had a free block of time and headed over to the homie D'Mack's studio to work on our joint project which we will release at some point, probably next year.

I and D' have been friends for a long time now, but it did take us a while to finally get something going in the studio. It might be because we both come from very very different musical backgrounds, but once we finally got serious about getting a project going, it's been fantastic to watch us meld in the studio. This sound's a tad self-congratulatory, but I don't mean it that way; for myself, I find it really difficult to find a studio production partner that you just vibe with.

I've tried music production joint efforts in the past with several different people, and if that vibe isn't there, you just come out with crap. You might have the dopest musical stylings separately, but then when you come together....poof, something gets sucked into the vortex and everything falls flat.

Today we had a great session that just flowed, and I got really amped about the project. It's great bouncing idea's off each other, and because we do come from different background, we're also coming up with music that we might not have done individually.

The last time I felt the studio electricity was when my homie and vocode co-founder Lex Luthor still lived in the mile high city. I'm very stoked about this new musical endeavor with the homie D'. You can check some of his other musical projects here if you're so inclined.

And for the record, if you ever want to sell this bit of kit mate, you better be calling me first.
