Moody - Freeki Mutha F ucker - KDJ

The title track on this single release from Moody 'Freeki Mutha F ucker' from KDJ records reminds me of one of my favorite DJs from the Texas years, a cat named Coy West who kept thick house music runnin' for several years. But that's a story for another time. If you've got an open mind, open ears and open up-for-it crowds, you'll have no problem getting heads and booties open with this cut.

For the regular readers, you're probably asking why is Wax posting it on City of Bass.... the remixes from Juan Atkins and Egyptian Lover bring the record to another level with a crazy funked up vibe that mashes that 80's funk sound, Compton from 1989 and afro-funk-detroit-dancefloor-juice dripping all over the place. If I was still DJing actively in the clubs, this would be in my record box. Recommended.

You can cop the 12" now via Hardwax and digital via Juno
