Darkmode's 'Laws of Robotics', released on the 25th of February on Devine Disorder Records really takes the electro sound a bit further, pushes the boundaries of genre definition. It's these types of records that get me amped the most out of the tons of music I listen to on a daily basis. Dark despondant strings, drifting out of phase voices weaving in and out, 'Laws of Robotics' is the soundtrack of a shock squad of Invid storm troopers raining hell down on the rebels. 'Assasin of Youth' takes the darkness of 'Laws of Robotics' to further depths, and the first shimmers of sun shine through on the third track 'Ratbat' in this excellent four-track EP. Rounding it out, 'Master Control' wraps it up nicely and sounds damn near like the theme music from the Mecha invading Regis' hive. Recommended and available now via Juno and other outlets.
