Jon Convex - Convexations EP - 3024 Records

Jon Convex 'Convexations' falls under the hybrid category. The electro pick here is 'Falling Again' and this definitely won't float the purist DJs out there, but for party rockers who dig having the ladies shake that thang on the floor, this is a clear winner - it's got definite house flavors mixed with the electro boom bap and shades of empty detroit streets at sundown, most of all... it oozes funk. The bonus track on the diigital release, 'Order Into Chaos' is on the techno tip and also tickles the fancy. I don't often diverge from the posting format here at City of Bass, but I make exceptions when my head starts kopfnicken when I'm scouring the internets for dope tunes so you don't have to.
