Last year, I came into luck in a round about way as my good friend and sometimes fellow collaborator studio rat D' was selling his Yamaha DX-21. It was a bit beat up, but a vintage synth for $25 that still works is a find to me, so I scooped it up. It stood propped against my studio wall for a good 8 months. I moved, and after moving into the new place, I managed to fry my M-Audio Ozone Interface/Controller whilst setting up the studio.
I was in despair as money is tight these days, when I realized I could try to use the DX-21 as a controller. A little fiddling with Reason and some drivers did the trick and before I knew it, I had this nice 1983 board controlling Reason. Still havent managed to get it working with Cubase yet, but that time will come. All around a win for 1983 and for me :)
