problem/solution with Torq

I've been having some issues with using the internal mode of M-Audio's Torq DJ software - namely with the rigid beat grid structure and problems with time-shifting during breakdowns (when producers apply the patented-Drexciyan-lets-eff-the-dj-up move in their tracks).. I've got Ableton Live Lite 7 thanks to some hardware purchases, but the Live lite versions only allow you to work with Wav files - clearly not ideal when most of your DJ tracks are MP3s...

but I just found out that version 1.5 of Torq will have what is essentially warping/ableton style... I might just hold out. I can't really see spending 3 bills to upgrade from Ableton Live Lite just to DJ some mp3s for fun...
