| maybe a year ago around this time, I purchased a non-registered TORQ/connective set up from a friend for $200. It was my second foray into digital DJ'ing, the first having been with Ableton Live - the beat warping process took all the fun out of DJing for me, as I'm one of those guys who wants to slam records together and bang out a mix. Prepping files was killing me. Torq solved that problem mostly - it correctly matches the beat grid most of the time, except for pieces with long ambient intros or strange percussion patterns. The only problem I was having was a lacking of suitable controller - I was using the M-Audio trigger finger, but it didnt have enough assignable controls to make the process mouse free. I'm looking forward to jumping into it again using the Pro88 - this beast definitely has enough assignable controls - curious to see how this will pan out. Now if only I had my entire 12 years worth of record collection digitized ;) Related: Tempo Anchors and Torq; Prepping tempo anchors and grids for different factors |
