whats holding me back junglist?

I'm a huge fan of drum n bass music. I've thus far been put off by trying my hand at production techniqus due to the level of intricay that dnb producers put into their tracks. Not only do most of the productions sound super polished, but in particular I find myself intimidated by the drum programming.

yes, I've experimented, but my stuff never seems to sit quite as well as the big timers. Its much easier to emulate and get simliar results in electro, house and trance music.. am I wrong?
