DJ Mixes : 3 AM Denver

Back in 2003, I was really inspired by the progressive house records coming out at the time that in particular managed to blend deep, almost-muted melodies with the funky chunkiness of progressive house. To my ears, at least, it was a very unique sound that managed to address three types of listeners: records that worked in a dance club, records that worked for long drives, and records that worked in the comfort of your own home.

The 3 AM Denver mixtape was the fourth in a series of "3 AM..." mix concepts I had done, from my first professional mixtape "3 AM Warsaw" released in 1997, to bootleg maxell gray cassette hand-dubbed "3 AM Detroit" and "3 AM Berlin" follow ups. If I recall correctly, "3 AM Denver" was released as MP3 only mix. To my ears, this mix represents the peak of this style of progressive sounds - the music, as it always does, morphed and twisted and took off on different sub-genre paths.
